Reviews
This ramen shop is located at the streets of San Francisco, and the atmosphere looks clean and modern. It is a small place and even the menu has limited options, but the food here is spectacular and delicious. I also heard that it’s recently opened.
The staff are very friendly especially when answering recommendations since we have no idea what we want to order. I really love the food here especially the Karaage, which looks different and bigger. Tori Paitan look like hot latte, which is mine. Tsukemen soup includes ingredients that you have to put inside the soup. Its noodles are fine though and quite chewy. Tofu tastes soft and crispy at the same time and I don’t know what that fried stuff is but it looks like fries.
Anyways, nice restaurant to go to!
Damn. This might have been the best bowl of ramen I have ever had. The broth was lusciously velvety and coated everything in a delicious and appetizing aroma. The noodles were perfectly springy and the egg was so jammy and delicious. The karaage was so well done. Brined and juicy, not dry, and very crispy. You could taste the richness of the egg in the kewpie mayo. Definitely going back.
Hey for all the slam dunk fans out there, this Amazing ramen is a TO-GO place!!!
Food is awesome, service is amazing. After seeing our table chatting about The First Slam Dunk, the place played 第ゼロ感 for us.
Thank you for making the best surprise of our day🙏
This place is so cute! Touch of modern with traditional. Made a reservation on Yelp and always safe to. We got the calamari - soft with crunch top and yummy dipping sauce. Tonkotsu ramen was unique in that the broth wasn't as creamy but more viscos. Melt-in-your-mouth chasu pork with thin noodz. Yes, more, please!
The place is beautiful and great atmosphere. The flight of sakes was a fun way to try different styles, definitely recommend. The tsukemen was news to me so I apart from struggling a bit to work on how to dip the noodles it was a nice experience. The spicy ramen was something more familiar and probably why we like it better. I would come back to focus on appetizers because they seemed amazing and I didnt get a chance to try, but just like other places in SF there is a desperate rush to feed you, get you to pay and get you out, specially on a Saturday night. I’d try a less busy day to enjoy my time.
We were super excited to come try this restaurant but was quite disapointed.
The sand storm calamari was a great starter. Crispy, spicy, crunchy, and rich in flavour when you dip it in the mayo sauce. A bit on the salty side though.
The tokusei tsukmen and classic ramen's flavours were mild. The tsukmen's noodles couldn't hold onto the thick broth. The classic ramen's noodles tasted very plain, nothing special about the broth.
If you're new to ramen, we could reccomend this place as a starter. If you're looking for more of a stronger flavour of ramen, go to Ramen Nagi where you can customize your bowel of noodles to your liking. It's a pretty average ramen shop.
The service at Taishoken was great, the servers were punctual and always ready to refill your waters.
Great food and great service. Got lucky as a party of two at 6 on a Friday night and was seated immediately. But should make a reservation if party larger than 2. Had the house ramen and the spicy ramen. Both of which were a delight, broth was rich but not too salty. Cleared up pallet with the tea and matcha dessert. Will definitely be returning.
Excellent food - the dipping noodle was spot on, but the dry ramen was the best surprise. Apps also didn’t disappoint - we had the miso cucumber, spicy edamame dip and the calamari (the crunchy topping is to die for). Service was also excellent - our party had a 9 month old and servers were so proactive with a high chair, baby utensils, and a sippy cup! We’ll definitely be back.
